Map Templates and Datasets for MapInfo

The Map Templates module is a simple, user-friendly interface that allows a library of standard map templates to be quickly prepared. Using Map Templates means that fully formatted, correctly scaled and professionally presented maps are generated in a few clicks. Users can select their required map layout from the list and then be automatically prompted for variable text such as titles, whilst an optional automatic scaling facility fits the map window to the selected template.

Auto Scale button calculates the scale at which to display the current map information to ensure that it fits on the chosen template

Generates map grid with grid references around map edges
Map extents button provides you with the option to drag and resize a rectangle on the map to choose the extents for the template.
Automatically places company or project logos, license numbers etc.
Generates maps at same scale, same template, different area (Batch processing)
Automatic prompting for user variables such as title, compiled by, comments, etc.
Save layouts option (making it possible to print an identical map area at a later date, using updated base data, for easy comparisons)

Rotation of vector data and labels

The DataSets module (shipped with Map Templates) allows a user or system administrator to properly manage and configure their data-sets.

Allows a long description of the DataSet, making it clearer to users what the data is
Allows a system administrator to keep track of data, where it is stored, when it was updated, etc.
DataSets can be grouped so that a users can call a particular group of DataSets
Works either alongside or instead of MapInfo's cartographic legend
