MapLink integrates database applications seamlessly with MapInfo Professional and ESRI ArcGIS. It also includes a Multi-User Editor, extending standard GIS functionality to allow simultaneous editing of spatial datasets by multiple users. Almost any custom built database and all exeGesIS SDM software products can use MapLink to associate spatial objects with database records. When an association is made, attributes from the database are transferred into the GIS and spatial information is retrieved from the GIS and stored in the database. The database can generated geometries in the GIS  using X/Y coordinate data or Well Known Text (WKT). Record selections from the database can be visualised in the GIS and database records can be displayed for spatial selections made in the GIS.
