We have two important new releases within the next year. Both of these will be available free of charge to all users with support and maintenance agreements.
CAMS 5.4 – released
CAMS 6.0 – release Spring 2012
CAMS v5.4 (released)
Apart from the usual bug fixes and general improvements, this release features several major new components:
- Web-enabled volunteer management and fault reporting (developed in cooperation with Kent County Council)
- Volunteer information is managed in CAMS and a new web application allows volunteers to access CAMS mapped information, see works needed, sign off completed works, record volunteer time etc.
- Faults can be reported by the public (or the contact centre) directly via a website featuring an interactive map. All reports are initially stored in an holding area in the CAMS database until they have been reviewed by the access officer. Once accepted into the system, CAMS will automatically create relevant issue records for you. The system can also send automatic status updates to reporters via email.
- All this new functionality is provided by the new CAMS API (application programming interface) which allows easier and deeper integration with front desk, highways and other corporate systems.
- Projects module
- Keeps track of project work relating to CAMS records, including access improvement plans, routine inspections, training events, etc.
- "My Tasks" console featuring to-do lists and dashboards specific to each user
- Provides quick overview of active tasks
- Performance indication graphs inform about current activities
- Map tools: Create new records from the map
- Locate the position of a new CAMS record in the map (e.g. an issue or a piece of furniture) and then use the "Create New Record" tool to add it to map and database.
