The demonstrations below show the new features which can be summarised as:

  • Inclusion of simple biological recording spreadsheet linked into Annual Reports. This is meant to collate biological records and there will then be full export facilities to allow you to pass these records on to full biological recording packages like Recorder or MapMate. We have found many site managers do not want full biological recording software but do want somewhere to keep their observations that they can then pass on to a local records centre.
  • Further improvements to the Diary with filtering of projects based on project codes. This will help select projects from the dropdown in the Diary
  • Improvements to filtering within CMS7. These will include the ability to select sites with multiple designations, regions or habitats and to select projects with project tags (external links) or multiple project statuses.
  • Organisational help files and Crystal Reports can now be held centrally with the location controlled by the user helping manage CMS on a network
  • Improvements to the External Link or Project Tag codes. You can now set these codes to be non-current so they don't appear as options for future planning. This takes into account that some project tags, e.g. corporate targets, funding sources, links to strategic plans, change over time and become redundant. They must not be deleted however as they are linked to historical data.
  • Project Status codes are now user editable
  • Increased options for the project plan list for rolling plans forward. One way of rolling a plan forward is to select a plan from the Project Plan list and then to use the Planning Wizard to plan forward. Now, there are a range of filtering options within the Project Plan list to allow you make a selection of projects that are relevent for the next planning cycle and because they are in a browse list, using the Planning Wizard on this selection is very fast. If annual projects have already been planned for one of these projects, details of these annual projects are now displayed in the wizard.
