Wood-pasture and parkland data analysis

The saproxylic beetle Trypodendron signatum. © Mike Lush, 2016We demonstrated through spatial processing and statistical analysis that it may be possible to predict wood pasture and parkland quality. This project generated a model that could be used to target survey effort to those sites with the highest predicted quality.

The hoverfly Xylota sylvarumWe identified the key features and enhanced knowledge of the distribution of UK BAP Open Mosaic Habitats on Previously Developed Land. This involved the development of a survey methodology and a survey of 98 sites to identify OMH habitat, including a survey of invertebrates on 50 - the largest single survey of its kind in the UK.

Ceredigion BVPI SurveyCeredigion County Council required a condition survey carried out on a 5% sample of the Rights of Way network. exeGesIS undertook the survey, analysed the condition data and produced reports. The data was also imported into CAMS in order to make it accessible to all officers responsible for the network.

Establishing the condition and monitoring baseline for non-SSSI Broad, Priority and Annex 1 Woodland Habitats in England and Wales

We developed a condition monitoring methodology to gain an insight into and monitor the condition of non-statutory woodlands. The survey methodology was tested on 100 sample sites. The main outputs were a woodland condition assessment manual, survey database, regression analysis, project report and baseline condition data.
