Web services have become an important tool for delivering data over the internet. As part of the English Heritage "Heritage Gatway" project we have developed the HBSMR Gateway, a web service for HBSMR which returns MIDAS XML compatible datasets to requests from desktop and internet applications.
HBSMR-web has been designed to take full advantage of the powerful HBSMR Gateway: Searches in the HBSMR-web user interface are translated into web service requests and the XML returned by the HBSMR Gateway is then transformed into HTML for the end-user.
