In 2006 English Heritage has supplied CDs of Listed Buildings data to all local authorities in England.

The data is provided in "XML" format (eXtensible Mark-up Language), an archiving and data exchange format, requiring specialist skills and software to translate. exeGesIS SDM Ltd. are specialists in heritage data management, and have worked with English Heritage since 1997 in providing solutions for local government.

We will translate your data into a simple Microsoft Access database and (optional) GIS layer, making the data much more accessible for viewing and/or importing into other systems*. The MS Access database will contain all the data from the XML file, but held in simple relational database tables. The optional GIS layer will contain "flat file" representation of the most significant information. Translated data will be supplied on CD.

Pricing

Due to high expected demand, we are able to offer these services at the following low prices:

• Translation of Listed Buildings XML to an MS Access database (Access 2000 format**) - £250
• Optional extra: Creation of GIS layer (ESRI shapefile or MapInfo table format) - £75
• Optional translation to other standard data formats on request - pricing negotiable
