CAMS Training Courses
Update: Due to the ongoing situation with coronavirus we are changing our training offerings to focus on remote training options. Course dates below still apply but they will all be delivered remotely until further notice. Courses will be split across multiple days with 2 - 2.5 hour sessions.
There is no requirement to have access to CAMS to attend one of our remote training courses, we can provide you with access.
- New staff using CAMS?
- Want to refresh your knowledge of CAMS or learn something new?
- Want to get more from CAMS?
- Want to improve your survey techniques and data management?
- Want to further customise your CAMS system?
We offer a range of CAMS training courses, run by our experienced CAMS specialists. We also provide tailored courses and workshops.
Our public course dates are below. Courses can also be arranged for any mutually convenient date for single organisations, either at your offices or in our training suite. In addition to CAMS we also offer training for GIS.
Hosted training courses are located at our office here in Talgarth. Our courses are scheduled to start at 9.30am and finish by 4.30pm to help those who have a long way to travel. If you are travelling particularly far you may wish to look at options for local accommodation.
For full details of our courses, please download one of the course summaries from the left.
*New Remote Courses*
We are now offering remote training courses as another way to save on travel costs. We have a copy of CAMS installed on a server we can offer access to. You can spend a few hours running through different aspects of training with a tutor to guide you and answer any questions. We’ll use screen sharing facilities to see what you are working on and demonstrate exercises for you to repeat.
Remote training is best offered on a 1 to 1 basis but we are happy to provide group training depending on needs. Please contact us if this might be of interest to you.
How does CAMS remote training work?
- Connect from any computer with internet access
- No requirement to have CAMS installed
- Join to our dedicated CAMS training system using a simple shortcut from your desktop
We will use either MS Teams or Zoom to share training materials and demonstrate exercises. You will then have the chance to complete the exercises in our ‘training’ CAMS instance – separate to your live CAMS.
We recommend all trainees complete a ‘connection test’ prior to attending a remote training course.
