This project involved creating a generic standalone open source tool for validating and verifying biodiversity data. The National Biodiversity Network Record Cleaner performs basic validation (checking for unique record numbers, correct date formats, spatial reference format, etc.) but also allows for extensive verification tests to be undertaken (e.g. species in known range, seasonality consistent, species names existing in recognised checklists, etc.).
