Exegesis were contracted to establish whether aerial imagery from UAVs could be used to investigate the spatial and temporal extent of bait digging at selected sites in Wales.

We developed an online portal that formed a single point of access to data and associated metadata derived from research carried out between MRE industries and Bangor University.

Exegesis developed a new mapping system to display marine spatial data, consisting of a web interface for configuring the mapper and a modern and feature-rich web application for displaying maps.

This desktop application imports archives from the UKDMOS database into SQL Server and converts the spatial data into SQL geometry layers. It creates layers that can be used by JNCC when assessing the extent of UK marine monitoring according to each broad marine discipline (e.g. biodiversity, physical oceanography and fisheries).

Exegesis quickly and efficiently standardised existing polygon data to MESH Translated Habitat DEF using a range of tools within ArcGIS, QGIS, GRASS and MapInfo. We also imported survey data into Marine Recorder following expert analysis of the data to determine biotopes.

Exegesis were contracted to undertake a review of Spartina anglica in England’s Natura 2000 Sites. This covered its impacts on designated features, effects on accretion and erosion, distribution and extent, and a review of control techniques. A protocol was developed to monitor S. anglica and help identify any negative impact.

Exegesis SDM were contracted by Bangor University to adapt the FishMap Mon data capture tool for ArcGIS so that they could use it to capture data for their Fisher Knowledge Questionnaire.
 

exeGesIS SDM undertook two projects for Cefas to create and update a bespoke Fishing Effort Toolkit that allowed end users to process raw GPS tracks and sighting data and undertake a standardised process to calculate fishing effort for one or more years.
 

The objective of this project was to process licence data from their legacy database to improve the accuracy of the spatial information. This was completed using a series of data validation rules.
