The purpose of the habitat and land-use toolkit was to maintain and update a GIS habitat layer and associated attributes in a relational database. The tool manages the link between the GIS and database, ensuring that any changes to the features or the attributes are reflected in all data.

Selected Heritage Inventory for Natural England (SHINE) is an on-line system for Entry and Higher Level Stewardship agri-environment schemes. SHINE manages consultations with Historic Environment Records (HERs) to deliver asset inventories and Farm Environment Plan HER Responses during the HLS application process.

Christchurch Borough Council contracted exeGesIS to undertake a survey of the council's cemeteries. This required an assessment of around 4,000 graves across Christchurch, with each one accurately plotted on a map, photographed and condition assessed, along with a detailed risk assessment.

Buckinghamshire County Archaeological Service commissioned the first HER website built with HBSMRWeb back in 2005. The site featured interactive mapping and used the HBSMR Themes module to create and publish educational content. The site was updated in 2010.
 

exeGesIS developed and provides support for Marine Recorder, a system for storing, managing and querying marine data. The system is used by some 40 organisations representing 130 individual users. We also provide training in the use of the software.
 

exeGesIS undertook an analysis of Greenspace and Public Open Space in Carmarthenshire for 21 major and 51 minor settlements to determine the percentage of the population in each settlement which passed set criteria. The results were reviewed by local authority staff via a website, allowing comments to be left and read by others.

Flintshire County Council recruited exeGesIS to update their digital definitive map. The scenario was that the digital Definitive map hadn’t been updated for several years, while in that time a number of Legal Orders had come into force that changed the network, meaning their digital definitive map was out of date and inaccurate.

exeGesIS analysed Marine Intertidal Phase 1 data for the whole of Wales using the standard CCW Conservation Assessment Protocol and a bespoke database application in Microsoft Access. This application reads and analysis the original survey data to produce reports containing the results, measured against SSSI selection criteria.

exeGesIS has produced habitat inventories for coastal vegetated shingle, saline lagoons, grassland and upland Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) habitats. These involved collating spatial data, capturing paper-based data, aerial photograph interpretation, ground truthing and processing available data to create standardised national datasets.

Over several years exeGesIS undertook a number of analyses of Greenspace provision, comparing the results against the standards in the CCW Greenspace Toolkit. Analysis was undertaken to determine the distance between each postcode and the nearest access point on the nearest Greenspace.
